Silly boy, nighttime is for sleeping!

The last few weeks, bedtime with Finn has been horrid. The boy wants to stay up all night, trash his room, throw Legos at Cullen's door, get out of his room, into Cullen's and blare Cullen's radio (while Cullen sleeps peacefully, believe it or not), I've also found Finn climbing into bed with Cullen! Then FINALLY, when I hear no strange noises coming from Finn's room... I find him sleeping on the floor. One night I was in the computer room working on FRG rosters, and left to find Finn sleeping in the hallway. Another night, he pulled EVERY one of his books off the bookshelves. Really, this mess is not as bad as some I walk into...

Hopefully, this phase will pass quickly. I'm getting really sick of cleaning his room every morning!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Getting ready to start decorating cookies!

Cullen helping Finn out...
I can't believe Finn let him...

Cullen working hard...
He was serious about his cookie decorating!

We saved a few cookies for Grayson to decorate.

Some of the 2 dozen cookies we made and decorated.

Our heart/red themed dinner. :)
The heart shaped Jello Jigglers were a huge hit!

Sonya picked up the heart shaped pizza. :)

With Sean off in the field for Valentine's Day, I made plans with Sonya and her boys to come over and celebrate. I planned a heart/red themed meal, which the boys enjoyed. They also had fun decorating the cookies. It was messy, but fun. :)

Happy Birthday, Sean!

Happy Birthday!! We love you!!

Sean giving the boys a high five after blowing out his candles. :)

Sean was away in the field and missed his birthday {AGAIN}! He was able to sneak away for a few hours tonight to come home and celebrate. Thank goodness, I don't know how much longer that ice cream cake would have lasted in our freezer. The boys have been dying to get at it!!

Like nothing on Earth....Vail

Almost the end of the day.
We were freezing, but having fun!

Getting ready for lunch on top of the mountain,
after skiing for a few hours.
Elevation on top is 11,220'
From here, we skied down to the bottom where
the elevation is 8,217'

Sean and me.

I look like a ninja!

Feeling out the hot tub.
We sat in the hot tub both nights. It was nice,
especially on night 2 after skiing all day. The
boys liked watching the snow fall on us,
as we sat in the water. :)

Playing in the pool.

Finn and Cullen took turns jumping into the pool.

Cullen going to ski school. :)
He was so excited to wear his new goggles!!

Cullen after a day of skiing in Vail.

Finn and Daddy outside our hotel.
The ski lift was right in our backyard!

Our room. Cullen was excited to sleep in the bed
that comes out of the wall.

Our family got away to Vail for the weekend. We were lucky enough to get in on an Army Marriage Retreat. The Army pays for our lodging, and breakfast and dinner. It was a much needed get away from our current stressors- Sean's demanding job, applying for grad school, studying for the GMAT, an upcoming move, where are we moving???, etc.

We had all day Saturday to ourselves, so we put Finn in the nursery (next year Finn can join Cullen in ski school), enrolled Cullen in ski school, and Sean and I went skiing. Everyone had a fun day! Finn did lots of artwork and got to go outside and play in the snow. Cullen LOVED ski school and rode the magic carpet and skied all day. We got a great report at the end of the day, he's a natural and can stop with no problems.

Sean and I enjoyed the day to ourselves on the slopes. We spent the whole day on the mountain. It was an interesting change from last year... Vail had much more powder (Past your knees if you got off the trail.) than Crested Butte! That took some getting used to... It pretty much snowed the whole day and at times the visibility was pretty bad, we almost ended up on a black diamond because of it at one point! We couldn't read the signs! We had to walk sideways, on our skis, up this steep hill to get back on our green trail. We did end on the blue trails though...

Vail was absolutely gorgeous! Now I see why they say "It's like nothing on Earth." It's so surreal skiing down mountains... so peaceful and quiet.

goodbye diapers!

Finn modeling his Toy Story underwear.
He's so proud of himself! :)

What a smart boy, he's only 29 months.

I am so proud of Finn-Finn! He is now officially potty-trained! He's been doing really well at staying dry all day in his underwear. Yesterday I sent him to hourly care in underwear and he stayed dry. Today we went to Colton's birthday party and he stayed dry there too. (Thankfully, I forgot his change of clothes at home!) I still put a diaper on him at nap and bedtime, just in case... but I don't think it will be long before I say goodbye to diapers altogether. I can't wait to stop buying diapers!! We've been buying them for just over 5 years now...

Tonight we're off to Chuck E. Cheese, as promised for pooping in the toilet. :)
