USASOC website

A U.S. Army jumpmaster assigned to Joint Special Operations Task Force-Trans Sahara, observes rigging of equipment on a parachutist from Senegal during a Basic Airborne Refresher class May 7 in Bamako, Mali as part of the Flintlock 10 exercise. (Photo by U.S. Army Master Sgt. Donald Sparks, Flintlock 10 Public Affairs)

Luke told me over the weekend that he saw Sean's picture on the USASOC website. I finally remembered to look it up and there it was. :) Sean did tell me that he had jumpmaster duties and was going to be the very last person to jump. I'm glad to see Sean is not completely burnt, he said it's 115* out... yuck! Here's the link, if you're interested.

Another link, no pics of Sean, but talks about what they are doing...

baseball game

I opted for the grass seats, so the boys could run.

Watching the game and eating some raisins.

Hot dogs!

Sharing an Icee.

We had a very busy weekend, but I had to squeeze in the Sky Sox baseball game. It was Military Appreciation weekend (the tickets were free), the stadium is right behind our house, and the weather was perfect. I'm hoping for an early bedtime. :)

Finn 20 months

Here are some recent pictures of Finn-Finn. He's turning into such a big boy all of a sudden! He's talking a lot more now, walking down the stairs, telling his brother where to go, etc. He's still my little cuddle-bug though (thankfully), he gives the best big hugs... and he never lets go first. :)

daddy doll

Finn giving daddy a hug.

Daddy needs to hit the washer...
been drooled on a lot lately!

What's new?

Since Cullen doesn't play with his "Daddy Doll" much anymore, I thought Finn would enjoy it. Finn LOVES it! We don't go many places right now without our Daddy. It's so cute to see Finn with it.... Not too much longer and this old doll will be tossed aside again!

Mother's Day at Miramont Castle

Enjoying the tea and fresh apple cinnamon scones
with devonshire cream, a vanilla almond butter, and honey.

Presenting Peggy with a 10th Group Certificate of
Appreciation and two military coins.

Allison digging in on the assortment of four
Victorian sandwiches with homemade spreads.

Berta with the tray of yummy desserts: pound cake with lemon
custard, mandarin oranges and real whipped cream, german chocolate cake,
banana cake, and toasted almond cake.

The crew.

This is one of 8 "deadman S hooks" that are drilled into the
the side of the mountain to keep the castle in place.

Today was the Late Mother's Day Celebration I planned as an FRG event. It was a little crazy this morning, I had 4 cancellations! It was a little hectic, but it's over and it was so much fun! We had a wonderful light tea (with 4 different types of tea) and a delicious meal. Then we all toured the 115 year old castle. The history of it was interesting: there is a 24 carat ceiling, a poisonous room (the wallpaper covered with arsenic compound to prevent the color from running), a fireplace with a secret compartment, etc.

Mother's Day Program

After the Mother's Day Program

Kazooing to Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

Skiddly dink a dink a doo, I. love. you.
(sound familiar Coco?)

Cullen's answers to a few questions about me.
I love that the thinks I am making sausage when he's at school. :)

The hat he made for me to wear.

Cullen and his classmates had a small program for us at preschool today. It was so cute. Cullen was so proud of the folder he created with special artwork and that questionnaire you saw above. I think the hats were really cute too. :) And watch-out grandmas... I think Mrs. Titus wants to take in Cullen and Finn as her own "adoptive" grandchildren. She again went on and on again about how beautiful both boys are. We brought in thank you cards and gift cards to Target for both Mrs. Titus and Mrs. Lobato today. Cullen told Mrs. Titus she can buy toys with it, Mrs. Titus said that she just loves toys. :) Have a Happy Mother's Day!!

Happy May Day!

Happy May Day! The boys and I made these for our neighbors and their babysitter, Ms. Adams. Our neighbor Ms. Frances was beside herself, she loved it so much! I remember making May Day baskets for my neighbors growing up, it's sad that it is a forgotten tradition. I have big plans for these fruit bouquets with my boys' artwork (can you tell who did which can?) on the tin cans... I'm making them for the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon at Cullen's preschool next week and as party favors for my friends baby shower. :)
