I had to bribe Cullen to get him to stand that close to the glass. Now why would he be so scared of a gorilla?! Could it be b/c of a Halloween mask??
We picked a great day to go to the zoo. All the animals were out enjoying the nice weather. The mama monkey came right up to us at the glass, the gorilla was eating "salad" according to Cullen, and the bear cubs were wrestling. Cullen (whose super-human strength is his insane sense of smell) hated the hippo house; he thought it was too stinky. In fact, he remembered it and didn't even want to go inside (but I talked him into it).
Here's another little Cullen story-- We were watching Scooby Doo the other day and Scooby gave Shaggy some of his Scooby Snacks; to which Cullen said- "Good Scooby, nice sharing." It's amazing what they pick up and repeat.
At any given time you can hear Cullen say- "that's ridiculous" or "Mommy, I'm mad" (Usually with a shake of the head and an exaggerated sigh.) Lately I've been telling him to use his words, instead of crying or whining... He sure is growing up!
